We have had many '99 Miata's in our shop and have yet to find one with out the broken hinge syndrome.... One alternative has been to upgrade to the expensive and hard to find '01+ center console with the cup holders. Now you can upgrade the looks of your '99 - '00 console and and get that new factory hinge operation back in your console lid, and do it at a reasonable price!
